SAN DIEGO, Calif. (November 6, 2025) – Helix Electric, a leading electrical contracting company, has been named ENR West’s 2025 California Specialty Contractor of the Year. The award recognizes the top contractor, which includes firms in California, Nevada, and Hawaii.
The annual recognition honors specialty contractors that demonstrate excellence in performance, growth, and community impact. Helix Electric, founded in 1985, has grown into one of the largest electrical contracting firms in the U.S., completing over 5,000 projects and over $13 billion in electrical work.
Helix Electric earned this distinction during its 40th anniversary year, also ranking No. 15 on EC&M’s 2025 Top 50 Electrical Contractors list, reflecting its industry leadership and expertise in complex electrical projects.
“Across California, Nevada, and Hawaii, our teams are building the power and process systems that keep data moving, water clean, and communities resilient,” said Victor Fuchs, CEO of Helix Electric, LLC operating in Nevada and Utah. “We’re building the foundation for expansion by investing in people, technology, and increasing our regional presence to meet rising demand for mission-critical electrical work.”
Helix Electric is celebrating 40 years as privately-owned, merit-based contractor focused on complex, design-build electrical work nationwide. In California and Nevada alone, the company recorded $727 million in revenue last year, supported by growth in water/wastewater, data centers and clean energy.
“Our 40th year is about honoring the craftsmen and women who build our reputation every day through safety, training, and pride in their work,” said Boris Shekhter, CEO of Helix Electric, Inc. “We take pride in living our core values that treat people right, set stretch goals, deliver results, embrace continuous learning and create a rewarding workplace for employees and clients.”
Recent work includes a key milestone at the Orinda Water Treatment Plant—a $267 million infrastructure project delivered with East Bay Municipal Utility District and Flatiron Construction—plus active mission-critical projects across Nevada.
