SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (August 6, 2026) – Arizona Builders Alliance (ABA), the leading trade association for contractors in Arizona, announces the Veteran Construction Trade Hiring Expo, a free event designed to connect Arizona veterans directly with employers and career opportunities in the construction trades.
The veteran hiring expo takes place Wednesday, Aug. 19, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the ABA Training Center, located at 1475 N. Scottsdale Rd., Suite 120, Scottsdale, AZ 85257. Veterans will meet face to face with hiring managers, participate in on-the-spot interviews, and explore apprenticeship and trade training opportunities that put their military skills to work in Arizona’s growing construction industry.
To help veterans prepare for the event, the ABA invites them to attend a free Interview Prep and Resume Review Workshop on Aug. 13, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the same location at ABA’s offices at SkySong.
“Veterans represent untapped talent pools for the construction industry today,” said Kim Davids, President of Arizona Builders Alliance. “They bring leadership, discipline, problem-solving skills, and an unwavering commitment to teamwork—qualities that can’t be taught overnight. At a time when construction companies are searching for skilled, dependable employees, veterans represent an incredible opportunity. This expo is about creating those connections and helping both veterans and employers realize what’s possible.”
ABA is proud to partner with Valors Veterans Community AZ (VVCAZ), a Tempe-based nonprofit 501(c)(3) dedicated to connecting veterans with community resources, camaraderie, and employment opportunities.
Bridging Military Service and the Construction Industry
Veterans develop discipline, leadership, and hands-on technical expertise through years of dedicated service to their country. Those same qualities are in high demand across Arizona’s construction industry. According to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, more than 528,000 veterans work in the construction industry nationwide, making it one of the most natural career transitions available to those leaving military service.
From Preparation to Employment
The Veteran Construction Trade Hiring Expo and the accompanying Interview Prep and Resume Review Workshop reflect the ABA’s ongoing commitment to strengthening Arizona’s construction workforce and removing barriers between qualified veterans and the employers who need them. Together, the two events give veterans every resource they need to prepare, connect, and launch a long-term career in the construction trades. Veterans interested in attending either event can register at azbuilders.org.
