Florida Panthers & Action Roofing Services Provide New Roofs to South Florida Veterans

Community partners unite to support Army veterans facing health challenges

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (August 22, 2025) – Action Roofing Services, a member of the Peak Roofing Partners Family of Companies, partnered with the Florida Panthers and Rebuilding Together Broward to provide two deserving U.S. Army veterans with brand-new roofs at no cost. The recipients, Bronda Lucious Williams and Paulette Richardson, both face significant health challenges that make home repairs particularly difficult.

Williams, who served his country for 10 years, now deals with hearing loss and mobility issues requiring a walker. His Fort Lauderdale home of 25 years had suffered extensive interior damage from a severely deteriorated roof, including a collapsed bathroom ceiling, putting him and family members at risk.

“It means everything in the world to us,” said Cynthia Williams, wife of veteran Bronda Williams. “The most important thing was this roof.”

Richardson, a Gulf War veteran who served 22 years before retiring in 2003, is paralyzed from the waist down and relies on her Margate home of 28 years as her safe haven. Her leaking roof had caused water stains on her ceiling and threatened the stability and safety of her residence.

“Without the roof there is no house,” said Paulette Richardson. “This is going to mean the world to me. For me, it is almost like getting a million dollars.”

“Our veterans deserve safe, secure housing after their service to our country,” said Anthony Perera, Founder of Peak Roofing Partners. “When we learned about these situations through our partnership with the Florida Panthers and Rebuilding Together Broward, we knew we had to step in and provide solutions that would protect their homes for years to come.”

The roof replacements, with a combined value of $50,000, represent significant investments in the veterans’ well-being and safety. Action Roofing Services’ team of professionals completed the installations using high-quality materials specifically selected to withstand Florida’s hurricane seasons and tropical storms.

“With one of the core pillars of the Panthers Foundation and organization being supporting veterans, we are honored to give back to those who’ve served our country by providing safe, secure roofs in their homes,” said VP of Panthers Foundation & Community Relations John Colombo. “Through partnerships like these with Rebuilding Together Broward and Action Roofing Services, we are able to combine our resources to make a tremendous impact in our South Florida community.”

The Florida Panthers worked with community organization Rebuilding Together Broward to identify veterans in need of critical home repairs as part of their ongoing commitment to serving the South Florida community. Peak Roofing Partners’ private provider partner, Inspected, a remote inspection and permit documentation platform, will be streamlining the roof inspection and permitting process, ensuring efficient project completion.
