Free Construction Camp Opens Applications for Local Middle Schoolers
The Rosendin Foundation program teaches students trade skills and explores construction careers at no cost
HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (February 2, 2026) – The Rosendin Foundation, a dedicated 501(c)(3) non-profit committed to positively impacting communities and empowering individuals, announces the return of TRF Camp Build, a free summer camp designed to ignite the joy of building in middle school students. This summer, TRF Camp Build takes place June 22-26 at Rosendin Electric Inc., 10028 Torrence Ford Rd, Ste. 200. Space is limited; parents can complete an application for boys and girls entering 6-8th grades for an exciting week of construction, skill-building, and fun.
TRF Camp Build offers an immersive hands-on experience, providing campers with valuable skills that extend beyond the program’s duration. Under the expert guidance of skilled construction professionals, campers will engage in a variety of activities, including personal safety training, concrete pouring and rebar shoring, soldering, pipe bending, Building Information Modeling (BIM), framing, woodworking, roofing, and painting.
“TRF Camp Build is about more than teaching construction skills—it’s about expanding what young people believe is possible for their future,” said Chandra Stewart, Executive Director of The Rosendin Foundation. “By providing early, hands-on exposure to the skilled trades at no cost to families, we’re helping students build confidence, curiosity, and a real understanding of viable, rewarding career pathways. This program reflects our commitment to strengthening communities by investing in the next generation of builders, problem-solvers, and leaders.”
The construction industry faces a growing demand for skilled trade workers to build America’s infrastructure, making programs like TRF Camp Build essential for workforce development. The camp helps parents understand that construction offers excellent career opportunities, whether students choose to attend college after high school or enter the workforce directly, with many trades offering competitive salaries and job security.
“This workforce development approach brings together professionals from various local construction companies and trade organizations, creating unique opportunities for them to give back and serve as role models for future industry leaders,” said Hope Piernick, Operations Manager at The Rosendin Foundation. “Their involvement enriches the students’ experience while strengthening bonds within our local construction community, fostering a culture of mentorship and innovation.”
The local Rosendin office will lead TRF Camp Build, bringing expertise and materials from industry partners including DeWalt and Milwaukee and United Rentals among others. The camp benefits from strong partnerships with IBEW Local 379, which provides additional volunteer instructors and training facilities to enhance the student experience.
TRF Camp Build welcomes industry sponsors to further enhance its impactful initiatives. The program has already garnered substantial support from notable contributors, including Rosendin Electric Inc., Modular Power Solutions, Milwaukee Tool and DeWalt. The support of these sponsors and donors plays a crucial role in the success of TRF Camp Build, helping to create positive and lasting impacts in the community.
The Rosendin Foundation supports various non-profit organizations across the country that focus on emotional, nutritional, and occupational health programs. To participate in the 2026 TRF Camp Build program, register by the deadline of March 31.
