Ownership Group Acquires Shasta Pools, Announces Expansion Plans to Offer Complete Home Services
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (Aug. 31, 2026) Dansons Capital Group, in partnership with Accrual Equity Partners and Hydro Construction, has acquired Shasta Pools and announced plans to expand the Arizona pool builder into a broader home services platform. The deal closed Aug. 6 and places one of the state’s most established backyard brands in position for its next phase of growth.
Founded in 1966 by brothers Bob and Skip Ast, Shasta Pools has built or renovated more than 150,000 pools across Maricopa County and remains one of the country’s premier pool builders. The company will continue growing its core divisions in residential and commercial pool construction and renovation, Shasta Signature Series luxury pool design, backyard hardscaping, extended warranties and e-commerce supplies.
The ownership group also plans to invest in Shasta’s recurring pool maintenance business, which gives the company a scalable foundation for broader home services. Leaders said that strategy will support the launch of Shasta Home Services, a platform built to serve homeowners through a single trusted brand across essential service categories.
Expanding the Home Services Model
Shasta enters this expansion with more than 200,000 customer relationships, route density in Central Arizona and a 60-year reputation with homeowners. The company plans to grow the platform through both organic expansion and partnerships.
Work has also started on a new design center and headquarters in Scottsdale. The campus will centralize operations and create a more welcoming environment for homeowners planning outdoor projects. It will also house a technology-driven contact center that gives customers a single point of contact across pool service and the expanding home services platform.
A Partnership Rooted in Shared Values
Dansons Capital Group is led by CEO Dan Thiessen, President Jeff Thiessen and COO Jordan Thiessen. The family built a portfolio of backyard-focused companies that included Pit Boss Grills, which they scaled into a global brand before selling in June 2023. Jeff Thiessen first connected with the Ast family while building his own backyard pool and saw opportunity to grow the business with strategic investment.
Jeff Thiessen said the team has already met with more than 200 employees to learn what they value most about Shasta Pools and gather ideas for the company’s next chapter. Dan Thiessen will serve as chairman and help lead the effort to recruit top industry talent and grow Shasta Home Services into a national brand.
Legacy Preserved, Future Secured
Skip Ast Jr. said the family chose the new ownership team because it shares Shasta’s values and commitment to quality. He said the company’s foundation has always centered on the homeowners who trusted Shasta with their backyards, budgets and families, and that the new leadership team will continue investing in both customers and employees.
Under Ast family leadership, Shasta grew into a dominant force in the market, with multiple divisions surpassing $100 million in combined revenue. The company is also a member of the Master Pools Guild, a distinction held by only 110 companies worldwide.
A Different Approach to Private Equity
Accrual Equity Partners Co-Founder and Managing Partner Jacob Tilzer said the partnership reflects the future of home services by combining a trusted generational brand with a large and loyal customer base. The ownership group brings more than 150 years of combined experience in building, scaling and optimizing service businesses, and it said Shasta will continue its community programs, including swim lessons, foster care support and first responder initiatives.
